Lance Sinclair is Vice President of Operations at Authority Brands, where he oversees One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning®, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® and Mister Sparky® electrical services.
With more than 17 years of experience working with the brands, Sinclair held the position of vice president of learning for Success Academy before being promoted to his current role in 2019. Sinclair’s commitment to franchisee business growth, his attention to detail and his drive to think outside the box, have made him an industry thought leader.
As an industry thought leader, Lance has been instrumental in the accolades that Success Academy has achieved, most notably, Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) awards in 2016/17 from Training Magazine’s annual Training Conference & Expo. Success Academy™, an affiliate company of Authority Brands, is an award winning, on-demand training resource that includes instructor-led training, web-based training and online, self-directed training for HVAC, plumbing and electrical service professionals.
Sinclair focuses on optimizing employee productivity and company results through a human performance improvement methodology. His articles on operational excellence in business management are regularly published, including a recent article, “The Problem Isn’t Turnover; It’s Retention,” which was published in HVACR Business.
Prior to joining the organization in 2004, Sinclair worked in training and operations at companies in the residential service space including as director of training and development at ARS Rescue Rooter and director of training and safety at TruGreen. In addition, he owned a PakMail franchise in Marietta, Georgia, for several years.
Sinclair earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, graduating with summa cum laude honors. He also studied at the Lund University School of Economics and Management in Lund, Sweden. He resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
