Complacency – The Performance & Productivity Killer; Training for Employees – Why It Doesn’t Always Work or Help Anything
We’ve all experienced it, we get into a rut, everyday it becomes more difficult to get out of bed and try to become enthusiastic about going to work. It is not only us as business leaders who get sucked up into the negativity of our typical day. We also often face the dilemma of how to motivate our work team to get out of that same negative spiral. The problem is not that we, or our team members don’t care, we and they, do care. This complacent behavior, if left unchecked, often leads to poor morale, boring repetitive work routines and a lack of concern for quality and productivity. Things are about to change! This program will provide you and your team with the tools and methods to “get you out of the funk” of complacency. You will learn how to make changes in your processes, environment and routines that will have you and your team become more ambitious, attentive and looking for ways to improve in performance. Have you ever spent money or time training people to only find it didn’t really resolve the problem or improve anything? Or perhaps you had some short term results but eventually things went right back to where they were before the training and education happened? This situation is not that uncommon. Most business leaders believe that if they just spent some time and money training team members more, everything would get so much better. Not true! Don’t waste your time and money! Training is not a miracle cure for everything! Frank Besednjak will explain and illustrate how some training programs create incredible positive results, whereas others are a total waste of money and time. The key is understanding and knowing what behaviors and tasks are actually trainable and what are not. This can be determined by isolating the tasks, determining the obstacles and coming up with a solution that really works to resolve the challenges that employees are facing or tasks they are not performing well. Attending this session will give you a better insight on how to best handle challenges and illustrate how to create specific solutions or options that may be much more effective than just forcing your employees to take training that they don’t really want and that doesn’t work anyway. You will leave this session with information that will help you improve employee performance and create training programs that stick.”How do you determine if training and education will help an employee do something better? Simple! If you hold a gun to their head and they can now do it, more training will not fix it.”
